SHOULD WE ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH
73We are told from an early age to always tell the truth. There are times we ask ourself, is telling the truth always the right thing to do. There are other motives to tell the truth then just being honest. I would like to here and discuss comments about telling the truth in your day to day relationships. Lets open up discussion with the fact there are many different type of lies. Remember the time you told your father you were scared because there was a monster under your bed. Did you lie as a child to get some affection from an adult figure. How about your first kiss! Did you tell your date it was great only becuse you did not want to upset him? As we get older lies become more distructive in adult relationship. Your wife suspects you of cheating now what do you do. A fellow worker is stealing from the company and you know about it what do you do. You no longer love your partner and have found another. What do you do when as an adult and caught in a lie or find yourself confronting someone that is lieing to you. So you can see that lieing becomes more complicated as we get older.

White lies should be used whenever someones feelings are in jeopardy.
However honesty whenever possible please.
Especially when dealing with children.
Although--- even they have feelings, that grow into hang-ups if not dealt with carefully.

Never say never... What about Witness Protection Programs? Don't people lie about their lives and names and occupations in order to ensure safety?
There are different types of lies.Some by commission, some by omission.
In life there is always way more occasion to be honest than to have to resort to lying.But let's not kid ourselves; there are reasons for not strictly telling the truth.A classic philosophical example is that of an obviously abused or distressed person that you allowed to hide in your home.If the abuser came looking for that person; you wouldn't say "of course-come right on in,"you'd try and protect them, and in this case lying as to the victims' whereabouts would be the safest thing.Why do you think the Witness Protection Program was invented?
The bottom line is that lies CAN lead to having to tell more lies, but let's not make the very same mistake of fooling ourselves into thinking that somehow lying is never justified.

Do men and women tell lies during sex? How good was it? Does that feel good? I wonder what would happen if I did this? When asked these questions 9 out of ten times we tell a lie. Most people respond with a lie because of the lack of a strong and honest relationship. If you have a strong relationship and have a healthy view of yourself some questions like was it good for you will not be asked. Many times when you ask these self fulfilling questions its only to reasure yourself that you are the one that is important.
Is there ever a right time to tell a lie? Some lies are simple your wife puts on a new dress and ask if she looks nice. The dress is too tight and makes your wife look like a hooker, your on your way to church. Well if you love your wife your want to make her happy and tell her yes she looks great. Your willing to accept the humiliation of standing beside your wife in church while she is wearing a hookers dress. I begin to think that if we really have a good relationship she would be asking for a honest opinion with open discussion. Not just a response to make her fill better by fullfilling her own needs and wishes. I told her she looked wonderful and during the church service with all eyes on her I just smile. Well i guess telling the truth is never simple or easy.
Should we always tell the truth? If your four year old daughter comes to you and ask "am I beautiful" most parents would say yes. However as she gets older maybe we should include discussions about inner beauty. On another level ,when you get caught cheating on your partner and compound it with lies you have problems more then just lieing. Somewhere down the line you never developed your moral thinging to a higher level. Your parents or adult figure never explained as you got older that there is more then inner beauty.

I have learnt in my life that telling the truth only brings you down. Always say what the other person wants to hear. Rest is between you and God.
